After taking Halloween off last week, the Emporia City Commission returns to action Wednesday afternoon.
A major item on the agenda will be the discussion of approving the ordinance for utility rate increases of the city water, wastewater and solid waste funds. All adjustments, if approved, will go into effect Jan. 1, 2019.
Commissioners also plan to approve a new contract with Emporia Main Street authorizing the appropriation of funds for the upcoming fiscal year. Other items on the agenda include discussion on approving a bid from the Parks Department totaling $37,832.00 for a new F-350 pickup truck and the appointment of members to the convention and tourism board.
One executive session is also planned. The meeting gets underway at 1:30 p.m. inside the municipal courtroom at White Auditorium.
