A cold shooting night cost the Emporia State mens basketball team in a 99-63 loss to Sioux Falls Saturday.
The Hornets shot 28 percent from the floor and was only 4 for 27 from the 3 point line. The Hornets were out scored 40-21 to close out the first half and never recovered. Malik Hluchoweckyj led Emporia State in scoring with 15 points. Grant Shell finished with 11 points. The Hornets are now 1-1 for the season. They will play at Newman Saturday.
