Continued discussions of changes to Turning Point Academy will highlight The Emporia School Board meeting Wednesday evening.
The TPA Advisory Council recently met on Nov. 8 and discussed the status of the TPA program and the possibility of a new charge in the wake of potential redesigns for area schools. If or when the school redesigns are approved the changes may have a profound effect on the education model for Turning Point Academy.
Board members will also discuss a potential grant which would provide funding for the Communities in Schools program. CIS is planning to expand their services to Emporia High School which would require EHS and CIS working together to hire a site coordinator in charge of providing resources, services and support for EHS students.
Also on the agenda will be discussions on the City of Emporia Revitalization Program. One executive session is also planned to continue the evaluation of Superintendent Kevin Case and his performance.
The meeting will get underway at 7 p.m. inside the Mary Herbert Education Center.
