Plans are now in place for the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce’s 41st annual Community Christmas Parade.
The big holiday event will take place Nov. 27. Chris Phillips, the owner of Bob Crawford Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration and a longtime volunteer and supporter of the Christmas parade, is serving as parade marshal. Phillips has been a Chamber member since 1979. He has also been a Lyon County Fair Board member for 35 years and has served on numerous local boards.
This year’s theme is “Christmas Wishes.”
The annual dedication and lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 pm in front of the Trusler Business Center. The parade then follows at 7 pm beginning and Fourth and Commercial and moving north to 12th.
