Emporia Main Street administrators say they are floored by the response to their 2018 care package drive for troops in Kuwait.
Director Casey Woods says the outpouring of support was amazing.
Main Street solicited a wide variety of donations, including nonperishable snacks, drink mixes, recreational items, clothing, communication items, personal supply items, hygiene items, personal care items and toiletries.
The main order of business now is getting the packages mailed. There are nearly 20 large boxes to mail, and each could cost $50 to $80 to send overseas. To donate, drop off money at the Main Street office, 729 Commercial.
