Superheroes, unite at Lebo High School on Saturday.
“Superheroes for Andrew” goes from 9 am to 3 pm. Organizer Kelly Freund says a lot of activities will be packed into the six-hour event.
Superheroes for Andrew is a fundraiser for Andrew Barr, an 8-year-old suffering from a rare form of epilepsy that is causing significant seizures. Barr’s mother, Lori, says Andrew began having medical issues early in his life. Those have progressed over time.
Officially, Andrew is diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, which results from a gene mutation that prevents proteins from binding correctly in the brain and then leads to neurological problems, including seizures.
