With the Holiday season upon us, it is time once again for the David Traylor Zoo to light up the night.
The 13th annual Happy Holidaze lighting ceremony will be held Tuesday evening at the Zoo. Zoo director Lisa Keith says the event is a way for the Zoo to give back to the City of Emporia.
The event gets underway at 5 p.m. and Keith says there will be plenty to do leading up to the lights coming on.
This year there will be 23,145 feet of Christmas lights or nearly 116,000 light bulbs that will light up the Zoo from Tuesday to Jan. 1st. The Emporia High School Chorale will also be in attendance serenading Zoo visitors with Christmas Carols throughout the evening.
The lights are scheduled to be lit at 5:45 p.m. For more information contact the David Traylor Zoo by calling 620-341-4365.
The KVOE Rolling Radio Show will be broadcasting at the Zoo from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
