United Way of the Flint Hills Director Jami Reever recently joined KVOE’s Newsmaker segment to give an update on the current progress of the United Way campaign.
As of Monday, the campaign is currently sitting at $200,000 of its $555,000 goal. Reever says with this being the time of year their Pacesetter companies and community partners begin revealing their numbers, she is anticipating that number to grow exponentially over the next several weeks.
Reever says in terms of United Way campaigns, the Flint Hills campaign truly stands out from others.
This year’s campaign has been bolstered by multiple community events including the recent Dine United fundraisers in October and early November and the Newman Regional Health Disc Golf Tournament which took place on Nov. 10.
The money raised by the campaign each year goes to benefit roughly 13,000 individuals and 23 different organizations across eight different counties. Reever explains their goal is to create a stronger community one person at a time.
