The number 2 ranked Kansas Jayhawks play Marquette in the semi-finals of the NIT season tipoff tournament in Brooklyn, New York Wednesday night.
The Jayhawks are 3-0 to start the season. Coach Bill Self says they need to be better defensively.
Marquette is 3-1. Their lone loss is to Indiana. Tipoff tonight is set for 6pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
After back to back nights of scoring over 30 points Kansas guard Lagerald Vick has been named the Big-12 player of the Week. Vick scored 32 points in a win over Vermont and scored 33 points in a win over Louisiana.
