This holiday season, you’re urged to give the gift of blood.
There’s a reason the Red Cross is calling for blood donations this time of year. Red Cross Communications Director for Biomedical Services Jan Hale says the national blood supply is well below normal.
Hale says September and October are normally strong months, but that was not the case this year.
The Red Cross is looking at ways to reschedule those blood drive events nationally to help restore the blood supply. In the meantime, there are several blood drives already on the calendar through the end of the year:
*Emporia: Dec. 13, 12-6 pm at Flinthills Mall
*Burlington: Tuesday, 12-6 pm at Burlington High School
*Lebo: Dec. 4, 10 am to 3 pm at Lebo High School
