There was no snowfall Monday, but there was a snow-related injury crash in Osage County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a northbound car and SUV collided on Interstate 35 in southern Osage County around 12:30 pm. The SUV driven by 21-year-old Holly Helgren of Wilton, Wis., passed a car driven by 32-year-old Brandon Holmquist of Eagle Bend, Minn. In the process, the Helgren SUV had melting snow and water collect on the Holmquist windshield. Holmquist cleared his windshield, but not in time to avoid rear-ending the Helgren vehicle.
The drivers in this crash were not hurt. Holmquist’s passenger, 22-year-old Elizabeth Costa of Becker, Minn., was listed as hurt although the crash log does not say whether she had to go to a hospital afterward.
