Lyon County commissioners have an action session planned Thursday, but the main topic may well be a discussion item.
Emergency Management Director Jarrod Fell will have an update on how the county handled Sunday’s blizzard. Road crews were taxed for most of the day as they tried to keep county roads clear in the face of up to 6 inches of snow and wind gusts over 50 mph.
In other business, commissioners will hear from Emporia City Planning and Zoning Specialist Joe Foster, who will present a request for a minor plat within the metropolitan planning area at 1863 Road G. Last week, the Wayne Proehl Family Trust gained a Metropolitan Area Planning Commission recommendation for a minor plat so a four-lot subdivision could be built at the address.
Five executive sessions are currently planned, with three for legal matters and two for non-elected personnel.
The meeting starts at 8 am in the County Courthouse.
