One of the big sights of the season begins in downtown Emporia on Thursday night.
Carriage rides return, courtesy of Emporia Main Street, and Director Casey Woods says these have become a holiday tradition.
Dates are Thursday, Dec. 6, Dec. 13 and Dec. 20, weather permitting. Rides are $8. Tickets go on sale at 4:30 pm each day, with rides starting at 5 pm and taking place every 15 minutes through 8 pm.
Meanwhile, Main Street has now announced the location featured on its annual Christmas ornaments. Woods says the Citizens National Bank building at 528 Merchant gets the honor this year.
Ornaments are $12 and are available at the Main Street office, 727 Commercial.
