Earlier this week, the Emporia Police Department announced three arrests in connection with an alleged kidnapping case. However, court proceedings against the trio have apparently been underway since shortly after the alleged incident.
Will Anderson, 31, Stacy Steen, 32, and Ivan Murillo, 25, all face charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated battery after one person said he was kidnapped, held, beaten and robbed over a period of several days. The affidavit in this case is sealed.
Lyon County Attorney Marc Goodman says the trio were all charged in late September. All waived preliminary hearings last week, setting the stage for separate pretrial hearings over the next two months. Anderson’s next hearing is Dec. 12, with Steen in court Dec. 21 and Murillo scheduled Jan. 3.
Emporia Police are still looking for a fourth suspect in the case, although officers believe that person may have fled the area. Investigators have not released the suspect’s name or any descriptive information at this time.
