The Lee Beran Recreation Center’s indoor pool remains closed until further notice.
Mechanical issues with the pool’s pump led to the shutdown Tuesday. An update from the Emporia Recreation Commission on Wednesday says the filtration system is down, so staffers are waiting for parts to come in so the issues can be fixed and the pool can return to normal operations.
Additional details are pending.
2 pm Tuesday: Pump issue closes pool at Lee Beran Recreation Center
The indoor pool at the Lee Beran Recreation Center is currently closed.
Aquatics Supervisor Jennifer Wegener says there are mechanical issues with the pool’s pump. This means the pool has to shut down until further notice while staffers determine the scope of the issue and plan their course of action.
Daily participation varies based on classes, but an estimated 50 people use the facility each day during the winter.
