Newman Regional Health has set a new record fundraising total for the 2018 United Way Campaign.
Thanks to several events put on by the hospital which included a bake sale/auction, omelet day in the cafeteria, waiting tables at the Pizza Ranch Dine United Event and a new Disc Golf Tournament, the Hospital was able to raise a grand total of $16,588.61. The total is a 10.8 percent increase from the 2017 total and is 6.8 percent higher than their 2018 stated goal of $15,500.
Newman Regional Health United Way Campaign committee chair Vicki Brooks says in a press release, “I believe in the United Way’s mission and I can see how much they do to better our community.” She goes on to add “I hope this continues to grow in the coming years!”
The United Way has had a major impact on Newman Regional Health throughout the years. This includes helping to implement the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in 2013.
According to Brooks this year’s campaign committee was the largest to date which she believes attributed to the campaign’s success.
