Emporia Public Works crews will close off one lane of Sixth Avenue in downtown Wednesday.
Department director Frank Abart says this is a follow-up to work recently done on Sixth between Commercial and Merchant, when crews were looking for a water main break. Instead of one, they found two, so the work Wednesday is to repair the additional water main break.
This will close the westbound outside driving lane and the street-side parking on the north edge of the street. The project could last all day.
