The Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce has started naming its annual award winners in advance of its 122nd annual business meeting.
The first major award, Business of the Year, goes to PT Associates. Partners Greg Bachman and Justin Hoover started a business in 1988, with Hoover developing a physical therapy practice in Junction City and Bachman at Newman Regional Health, then known as Newman Memorial Hospital. Ten years later, Bachman established Emporia Fitness at its current location, 2812 West 12th. PT Associates was then developed inside Emporia Fitness in 2014.
PT Associates currently has six full-time therapists, a part-time therapist, a full-time therapy assistant and nine support staffers.
The Chamber will announce its Volunteer of the Year, Committee of the Year and Lifetime Achievement honorees in the next few weeks. The Chamber’s 122nd annual meeting is Jan. 25.
