A reported injury crash earlier this week did not actually result in anybody going to a hospital for treatment. It did lead to an arrest, however.
Emporia Police and Fire were dispatched to the 1700 block of West South Avenue on Monday afternoon after a car and SUV collided near Las Casitas Park. Police Sgt. Lisa Sage says 61-year-old Michael Widger of Emporia was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Emporia Fire crews checked out three people at the scene for minor injuries. None were transported to any medical facility afterward.
Emporia Police have not released the names of anybody else involved in this crash, and they have not divulged Widger’s alleged blood alcohol content. All other crash details are currently pending.
