Saturday night’s community calendar features the debut of the Brianna Mundy ESU Scholarship Fund Christmas Ball.
The dance honors Mundy, who died a decade ago after suffering from spina bifida and other medical issues. Mundy’s mother, Vivian Steavenson, called the dance a fitting way to honor her during Wednesday’s Talk of Emporia.
The dance goes from 6-10 pm at the Bowyer Building. Besides dancing, activities include music, a cash bar, appetizers, photo opportunities, a silent auction and raffle.
Tickets are $25 for individuals, $45 for couples and $100 for tables of six. They are available at the door as well as at the Chamber of Commerce office, 719 Commercial, and Clint Bowyer Autoplex, 2815 West Highway 50.
Proceeds will augment the scholarship fund, which needs about $7,000 to be fully endowed through Emporia State. Students in the art department will benefit from the scholarship fund.
