Hundreds of Emporia State students now have their diplomas after commencement activities this weekend.
Candidates for bachelors degrees picked up those degrees Saturday. Roe Cross Professor Kevin Rabas, the commencement speaker for the event, told graduates to plan for change as they entered the work world.
Rabas, the current Kansas Poet Laureate, also used a cowbell to enhance his speech. He says his travels across the state as a professor and as Kansas Poet Laureate have demonstrated the value of an Emporia State degree.
Over 300 students received degrees Saturday. Another 300 received graduate degrees as part of separate ceremonies Friday.
