An investigation is currently underway after a vehicle fire developed in Southwest Emporia Thursday night.
Emporia Fire and Police responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the trailer park located in the 300 block of Sherman just before 5 p.m. Once there crews discovered the vehicle in question was completely engulfed in flames.
The vehicle was in close proximity to a trailer in the park, however, crews managed to contain the flames to the vehicle before it could spread.
According to Batallion Chief Ryan Conley, there is currently no indication as to the cause of the fire. Investigators are also currently attempting to track down the owner of the vehicle as the residents of the adjacent trailer claimed it did not belong to them.
There was nobody inside the vehicle at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The vehicle has been considered a total loss.
Further details are still pending. The Emporia Fire Department is handling the investigation.
