More good news for families using the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
The United Way’s Board of Trustees has voted to renew the program through 2023. United Way Director Jami Reever says the program has received “great support” from different foundations, including a recent five-year, $30,000 commitment from the Trusler Foundation.
All children from birth to age 5 living in Lyon, Chase, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Woodson counties are eligible to receive a free book once a month until they age out of the program. Parents and guardians simply sign their kids up. The first book comes in eight to 10 weeks.
Reever will join our Christmas Eve Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Monday with more details on this announcement as well as a fundraising campaign update.
