A semi driver from Emporia was involved in an injury crash in Osage County on Thursday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 43-year-old Tyson Young was driving a semi northbound on the Kansas Turnpike when a northbound car driven by 29-year-old Reginald Edwards of Cordova, Tenn., rear-ended the semi trailer near mile marker 165, or almost 40 miles northeast of Emporia, shortly after 10 am. Edwards’ car then veered off the highway, knocked over a post and stopped in a ditch.
Neither Young nor Edwards were hurt. A passenger in Edwards’ car, 27-year-old Clevon Wattley of Carrollton, Ga., was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital for minor injuries.
Wattley was the only one of the three people involved in this crash not wearing a seatbelt.
