Harry Potter fans rejoice, an escape room with the magical themes of Hogwarts is coming to Emporia State University for all to try.
The escape room will replicate Professor Umbridge’s pink office and will allow teams of six members 45 minutes or less to formulate the escape.
Escape rooms are a growing popularity among everyday citizens. ESU professor Dr. Terri Summey, an instrumental organizer for the event, explains the idea and their version of the escape room.
The event started as a de-stressor for ESU staff and students for the end of the semester. After multiple suggestions and surveys taken, it was decided to offer the event to the public for a small participation fee.
Adults (ages 12+) will be charged $10 and children (ages 11 and under) will be charged $5. The proceeds will not be going to ESU, as Dr. Summey had a better idea for the revenue.
The escape room will be held at the ESU William Allen White Library on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm until Jan. 10th. For information or reservations, contact Dr. Terri Summey at tsummey@emporia.edu or call the WAW Library at (620) 341-5205.
