Kari’s Christmas for Kids concluded Friday as the fundraising ended, the name of the grand prize winner was drawn and the ring went to its new home.
Lane Lake takes home a 1.5-carat baguette and round diamond ring set in white gold worth an estimated $6,300. She was surprised when she went to the store.
The design was special for Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal owner Kari Stookey.
All the proceeds — over $3,400 — benefit local and area children served by SOS. Director Connie Cahoone was understandably emotional when the money was handed off.
Kids served by SOS often come from foster care, broken homes or other crisis situations. Cahoone says the fundraiser helps to provide for immediate needs, like clothing, underwear, socks and shoes, hygiene items.
