Stuffed animals are now being offered to comfort children at Newman Regional Health as a part of the Pets for Peds program.
This fluffy program is attempting to lessen the anxiety and frightfulness of hospital trips for children. A wide variety of stuffed animals are available for the kids.
Rosetta Fields of Newman Regional Health’s Auxiliary Board explains the program’s brief history.
Other than Pets for Peds, the Auxiliary Board helps out a lot, Fields says. The Board has furnished various parts of the hospital, offers scholarships for medical students at ESU and FHTC, and much more.
A Christmas tree is in the north lobby of the hospital for donations towards the program and will be there until Friday night.
