Potential trial dates are now set for a former Emporia Chiropractor.
Eric Hawkins had a pre-trial hearing Friday afternoon in Lyon County District Court. The former Emporia chiropractor has been charged with aggravated sexual battery against a then-22-year-old woman dating back to an alleged incident in February.
He also faces a sex battery charge, with an alternate count of battery, against a then-32-year-old woman for an alleged incident in March 2015. In addition, he is charged with rape of a then-16-year-old following an alleged incident in November 2015.
During the hearing, Hawkins’ attorney Chris Joseph presented two motions before the court. The first seeking to have the rape charge dismissed and the second seeking charges in the case to be severed.
If the second motion were approved it would result in separate trials for each of the individual charges.
A motions hearing is now set for Hawkins on Feb. 20 at 9:15 am in Lyon County District Court. Hawkins also has three potential trial dates now set on Mar. 18, Mar. 15 and Apr. 29.
