One individual was transported to Newman Regional Health after a two-vehicle collision on Kansas Highway 99 Saturday afternoon.
Lyon County Sheriffs deputies and Emporia/Lyon County EMS crews were called out to the scene of a two-vehicle injury accident at Road 130 and South Highway 99 at 11:45 am. According to a news release from the Sheriff’s office, a 2007 Dodge Dakota driven by 52-year-old Tamitha Rabon of Gridley failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Road 130 and Highway 99 and struck a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 67-year-old Harold Jackson of Olpe.
Both vehicles ended up in the southbound ditch after the collision. Rabon was transported by ambulance to Newman Regional Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Jackson refused medical treatment at the scene.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing through the Lyon County Sheriffs Office.
12 pm Saturday: One person injured after two-vehicle accident
A two-vehicle collision on Kansas Highway 99 saw one person transported by ambulance.
Emergency crews responded to the call of an injury accident in the 1300 block of Kansas Highway 99 southbound shortly before noon Saturday. According to Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies on site two vehicles collided on the roadway for currently unknown reasons and both ended up in the southbound ditch.
One person was taken from the scene by ambulance with undisclosed injuries. The names and total number of individuals involved have yet to be released.
