Since a trio of winter storms brought up to 10 total inches of snowfall to the KVOE listening area last month, things have gotten pretty dry across Lyon and surrounding counties. That will likely change starting before sunrise Wednesday.
Showers are likely across the area through Wednesday night and could continue into Thursday morning. Some embedded thunderstorms are possible, but there is little to no chance of any severe weather with that activity.
Recent forecast models continue to say we could get anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of rain areawide. The National Weather Service had been saying rivers and creeks could be elevated after the rain ends. Now it says there could be some localized flooding of creeks and streams before the system pulls away.
Temperatures will be in the 50s through Thursday, but sharply colder air settles across the area for Friday and Saturday with highs expected in the low 30s.
