Lyon County deputies are now looking out of state as they investigate Sunday’s injury hit-and-run crash near the Coffey County line.
Undersheriff John Koelsch says deputies are working with a currently-unnamed law enforcement agency as the investigation continues.
Larry Childers, 66, of Olathe, was hit while standing by his car after pulling over on Interstate 35 near the Kansas Highway 130 exit so his wife could change a diaper.
Authorities have been looking for a white delivery-style box truck since Sunday morning. Koelsch says modern technology, including video and GPS tracking, should help investigators narrow down the list of potential vehicles involved. Having said that, he also encouraged anybody with information to step forward.
