As the holiday shopping season comes to a close several local retailers are celebrating another successful year.
According to many local store owners, the local economy is in very good shape as local businesses all saw steady foot traffic and sales over the past few months. This includes Dynamic Discs, which according to owner Jeremy Rusco saw a large amount of traffic both in store and online thanks to individuals looking to take up disc golf which continues to be one of the fastest growing sports across the nation.
Rusco adds, their retail numbers have not just been limited to local foot traffic either as they are constantly seeing individuals come in from across the country and are shipping between 300-500 packages a day both across the country and internationally.
The good fortune extended throughout the local community to other businesses as well including Bluestem Farm and Ranch Supply. According to manager Bruce Burnheide, it was a “great year” for sales at the store.
He adds it’s hard to pinpoint just one item or product that flew off the shelves more than others.
Aaron Otto, owner of Brown’s Shoe Fit Company echoed the statements of others in saying it was a good year for his business. Otto says the strong sales conducted by local businesses this year is a strong sign of how the local economy is continuing to grow.
He contributes that growth to a loyal clientele.
While every local retailer specializes in different products, they all agree the holiday season is a major contributor to their annual bottom line.
