Lyon County commissioners had two main points of business during their action session Thursday.
Commissioners approved Sheriff Jeff Cope’s request to buy cameras and lights for department vehicles. The Sheriff’s Office is working with TCS Upfitting on the project. Cost is just over $20,000.
Separately, commissioners finalized the sale of five parcels of land — four in Neosho Rapids, one in Allen — that weren’t claimed as part of a recent Sheriff’s Office sale. The four properties in Neosho Rapids were all sold to the city of Neosho Rapids for $1 each, while the Allen property was sold to an adjoining property owner for $75. None of the addresses were divulged during Thursday’s meeting.
