Preliminary hearings have now been scheduled for two people allegedly involved in separate but related chases last week.
Chelsea Brooks, 29, will be in Lyon County District Court at 3 pm Jan. 17. She faces charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, flee and elude, drug possession and other counts.
Jon Buchanan, 37, now has two cases moving forward. As KVOE News mentioned this week, Buchanan faces six counts of violating the Kansas Offender Registration Act. He will have a preliminary hearing at 1:30 pm Jan. 17 on those charges.
Buchanan now has been formally charged in connection to a chase last week. He will have a preliminary hearing at 4 pm Jan. 17 on charges of interference with law enforcement, methamphetamine possession, paraphernalia possession and criminal possessing a weapon.
Both Brooks and Buchanan were arrested Dec. 18 after fleeing a business in the 600 block of Commercial. Buchanan was arrested after a short foot chase, while Brooks drove into western Osage County before she was arrested.
