A big push at the end meant good results for the Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign.
Spokesperson Hilary Parker unveiled the total on KVOE’s 7:05 am newscast Friday:
Parker says this will be a big help to a lot of families in 2019, which will be the Salvation Army’s 125th anniversary year locally.
There were also more Doubler Days this year than in past years, and Parker says those were a major help to the campaign.
On top of the finances, area residents donated to other Salvation Army ventures. Parker says 120 families received special Christmas assistance, with enough toys and clothes to help over 280 kids and enough meal assistance to help over 70 seniors during the holidays.
