With the new year comes new life and Newman Regional Health is now celebrating the first new life of 2019.
John Dean Stephen Nelson was born at 7:43 am Wednesday morning becoming the first newborn baby at Newman for 2019. John was born to father Jared and mother Courtany Nelson who says it is exciting to have the first child of the new year.
Baby John was welcomed by several individuals including hospital staff, his parents and his new siblings Gunner, Olivia and Rebel. The Nelson’s other daughter Auralynn was unable to be at the birth.
Courtany Nelson says all of their children have been very eager to meet their new baby brother.
John was born weighing 7 lbs 14.3 oz.
As is tradition the family received a gift basket from Newman Regional Health, the Newman Regional Health Foundation and the Newman Regional Health Auxillary for having the hospital’s first baby of the new year.
