One defendant in a drug distribution case that came to light last fall has pleaded no contest in his case.
Jacob Rodriguez was set for trial to begin next week in his case. Instead, he pleaded to a count of drug distribution. Rodriguez had been facing a count of distribution within 1,000 feet of a school among other counts.
Word on a sentencing date is pending.
In related news, a hearing for co-defendant was delayed Wednesday. Amanda Alvarado was set for a motions hearing, but due to an illness on her defense team, that hearing is now Feb. 4. Alvarado faces charges of drug distribution and child endangerment among other counts.
