Beacon for Hope had a fortuitous year in 2018 and is looking to build upon it in 2019.
Several fundraisers and support events took place last year, with many on the horizon for 2019. Executive Director, Melissa Kurtenbach gives an overview of these events and more.
With everything new coming to Beacon for Hope, it makes sense that they would need an updated facility. As of Jan. 14th, the organization will have an expanded office space capable of hosting community events as well as private meetings next door to their current location of 527 Commercial St.
A big-item fundraiser for Beacon for Hope will see them raffling off a car for the lucky winner. Kurtenbach explains this is still a work in progress and goes over how it was made possible.
Beacon for Hope is a non-profit organization for suicide prevention that was founded in 2017 by Kurtenbach. Kurtenbach lost her sister to suicide in 2006 and dedicates this in her memory.
