For the record, the first very high fire danger day of 2019 for the KVOE listening area is Jan. 6.
A combination of temperatures approaching 60 degrees, dry grasses and southerly winds as high as 30 mph will elevate the fire danger areawide Sunday afternoon.
Typically, the fire danger eases after sunset, but it may not Sunday night. Winds are expected as high as 35 mph and there will be a gradual change in wind direction from south to southwest.
Fire danger will remain elevated Monday as high temperatures approach 60 degrees with westerly winds as high as 30 mph. Fire danger could be high again Tuesday with highs in the low 50s and winds out of the northwest as high as 25 mph.
