The USD 253 Board of Education will convene Wednesday evening for their first meeting of 2019.
Items on the agenda include reviewing requests for two separate grants for local schools. The first is a Target Field Trip grant for William Allen White Elementary school in the amount of $700.
The grant was applied for by W.A. White teacher Hannah Prophet to allow 4th and 5th-grade students to go bowling. The second request seeks approval for Riverside Elementary and W.A. White to accept Healthy Habits for Life grants from Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Emporia High School administrators will also seek approval to change the names of two current courses.
One executive session is also planned the meeting begins at 7 pm inside the Mary Herbert Education Center.
