Some bad news for the Kansas mens basketball team. They will be playing the rest of the season without Udoka Azubuike.
KU Coach Bill Self announcing Sunday that Azubuike had an MRI done Sunday that revealed he tore the same ligament in his right hand that he tore in his left hand his freshman season. The injury occured Friday at practice. The injury will require season-ending surgery. Doctors expect a complete recovery and Udoka will be able to assume full basketball activities at some point this summer. He was averaging 13 points and 6 rebounds a game.
Kansas lost at Iowa State 77-60 Saturday when they played without Azubuike. The Jayhawks host TCU Wednesday night.
