After a close first half the Emporia State women out scored Northwest Missouri State 33-21 in the 2nd half to earn a 54-41 win Wednesday night.
The score was tied at 11 after the 1st quarter. Emporia State led 21-20 at halftime. The Lady Hornets went on a 12-0 run to start the second half and never trailed the rest of the game. Lady Hornet Coach Toby Wynn said they were able to make their shots in the 2nd half.
Jessica Wayne led the offense with 13 points and a game high 12 rebounds.
Addie Lackey finished with 10 points, all coming in the 2nd half. Morgan Laudan grabbed 11 rebounds. Northwest did not have a player score in double-figures.
Emporia State played without leading scorer Tyra Jones who is going thru concussion protocol.
The Lady Hornets improve to 11-3 for the season and 2-2 in the MIAA. They play at Missouri Western Saturday with tip-off at 1:30p
