An Osage County barn and the contents inside it were destroyed by fire Sunday.
Thankfully, there were no injuries after fire developed at 702 East Kansas Highway 268 shortly after 1 pm. Reporting units found a barn on fire along with a semi tractor-trailer, camper, boat, mower and other items inside. Everything was a total loss, although the dollar amount has not been determined.
Numerous agencies responded, including Lyndon-Vassar, Carbondale, Osage City and Overbrook-Michigan Valley fire units, Osage County EMS, Osage County deputies, the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office.
It took over six hours for authorities to fully clear the scene. A cause has not been listed.
