The Emporia Fire Department is working with Emporia Police as an investigation continues into last week’s vehicle-and-house fire.
Fire Marshal Reason Bradford says the blaze at 218 Sylvan was arson, so investigators are looking for the person or people involved.
Fire was reported around 5:20 am Jan. 11. The fire started in a car parked next to a house at that address and then spread to the house itself, destroying the back end of the car and causing minimal exterior damage to the house.
