Governor Laura Kelly will deliver her first State of the State address Wednesday evening.
Kelly will outline her goals and objectives for her first year as governor. The governor has already taken her first official action to prohibit job discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender state employees after those protections were eliminated by then-Gov. Sam Brownback in 2015.
The State of the State address begins at 6:30 pm. KVOE will carry the speech as well as the Republican response Wednesday night, and we’ll also have reaction from local lawmakers during KVOE’s newscasts Thursday.
