The classic Madrigal dinner will be making a comeback to Emporia on Saturday thanks to Emporia State University’s chorale activities director, Dr. Robert Ward.
The Madrigal dinner will be hosted by the Emporia Country Club on Saturday evening. Dr. Ward talks about the ins and outs of the dinner.
Locals might remember the Madrigal dinner from Dr. Terry Barham who ran the dinner from the late 1980s until the 2000s. Dr. Ward explains the cost of tickets and where they can be purchased.
The menu for the night will feature period-accurate foods like hot wassail, butternut squash soup, pork shank, and bread pudding with songs to represent each item.
For more information on the event, email Dr. Ward at rward7@emporia.edu or call the Emporia Country Club at (620) 342-0343.
