An Emporia church has formed a charity to support local children in the foster care system called the “Loving Hands Ministry.”
The members of the Messiah Lutheran Church banded together to create this ministry. Donna Spain, a member of the church, gives some background on the formation and direction of Loving Hands Ministry.
Loving Hands has paired up with several childcare organizations such as CASA of the Flint Hills and Saint Francis Community Services to help provide for as many foster kids as possible. Spain talks about the needs of these children.
Other donations being asked for are backpacks, toiletries, and clothing. The church encourages the community to donate for the children.
