The Emporia High boys basketball team overcame an 11 point deficit to defeat Leavenworth 54-53 in the 5th place game of the Ralph Miller Classic Saturday.
Beau Baumgardner hit a 3 point shot to give the Spartans the lead. Charles Snyder and Kyler McCullough scored late to help seal the win. Coach Beau Welch was proud of the way the Spartans never gave up.
Charles Snyder led Emporia High with a game high 25 points. Kyler McCullough added 11 points. The Spartans improve to 8-4 with the win.
