The Pittsburg State men used an 8-0 run in the 1st half to take a 5 point lead and would build it to a 20 point lead on the way to a 90-66 win over the Emporia State men Wednesday night.
The Hornets using a new line-up and playing without Kooper Glick, due to coaches decision, jumped out to a 7-4 lead. Pittsburg State answered with a 8-0 run and then went on an 18-7 run to take a 20 point lead and never looked back.
Coach Craig Doty started Kam Rowan, Grant Shell, Justin Washington, Duncan Fort and Danny Hodge.
Pittsburg State would lead by as many as 26 in the 2nd half as they made 14 three point shots. Emporia State had 3 players score in double-figures led by Sawyer Glick with 14 points. Justin Washington added 11 points and Malik Hluchoweckjy finished with 10 points. Junior Marquis McCray led the team with 10 rebounds. He also scored 9 points. Pittsburg State was led by Donovan Walker with 27 points. Grant Lozoya added 17 points. The Emporia State men are now 7-10 for the season and 2-6 in the MIAA. They will play at Missouri Southern Saturday.
