Friday has several notable hearings scheduled in Lyon County District Court.
A pretrial hearing is comingĀ for one-time Emporia Senior Center director Lannie Lyman.
The hearing is at 2 pm in Lyon County District Court and is the latest hearing for Lyman, who is accused of theft from the Senior Center. Officially, Lyman is accused of taking over $110,000 from the Senior Center from early 2016 through Sept. 2017.
Lyman pleaded not guilty to the theft charge and was bound over for trial during a hearing last month.
Separately, one of two defendants in a drug distribution case that came to light in October is back in Lyon County District Court for a hearing.
Marquise Richardson faces charges of cocaine distribution, marijuana distribution, possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, plant or cultivate and other counts. Authorities say they conducted several controlled drug buys in October and Richardson had marijuana, cocaine, paraphernalia and money in his possession when he was arrested.
Richardson has a pretrial hearing at 2 pm.
In addition, one of four defendants in a separate drug distribution case from last fall is in Lyon County District Court on Friday.
Seanna Herron has a hearing at 1:30 pm to suppress certain evidence in her case. She faces charges of drug distribution within 1,000 feet of a school, drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by a felon and other counts.
Co-defendant Jacob Rodriguez has pleaded to a drug distribution charge and is awaiting sentencing, while another co-defendant, Cole Bowen, is awaiting trial starting Monday on charges of distributing stimulants. Fellow co-defendant Amanda Alvarado has a hearing Feb. 4 on charges of distributing stimulants and child endangerment.
